CITY OF ALTOONA FALL BRUSH & LEAF COLLECTION OCTOBER 23rd – NOVEMBER 27TH

THE FALL YARD WASTE COLLECTION PROGRAM WILL BEGIN MONDAY, OCTOBER 23rd AND RUN THROUGH MONDAY, NOVEMBER 27TH

THE CITY IS DIVIDED INTO FOUR SECTIONS AS FOLLOWS AND BRUSH COLLECTION WILL TAKE PLACE ONE WEEK PRIOR TO LEAF COLLECTION:

BRUSH – MONDAY, OCTOBER 23RD 

LEAVES - MONDAY – OCTOBER 30, NOVEMBER  6, 13, 20 The Juniata Section, Wehnwood, Ivyside, Logantown and a Portion of Fairview To 4th Street and Norfolk Southern Mainline tracks

BRUSH – TUESDAY, OCTOBER 24TH 

LEAVES - TUESDAY – OCTOBER 31, NOVEMBER 7, 14, 21 Center City from Norfolk Southern Mainline tracks including Fairview (south of 4th street), Keith Area, Gospel Hill, 5th Ward, 9th Ward and a portion of 12th Ward including Broad and Beale Avenues to 31st Street

BRUSH – WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 25TH 

LEAVES - WEDNESDAY – NOVEMBER 1, 8, 15, 22 From 31st Street and Union Avenue including South Altoona, Mansion Park, Columbia Park, Garden Heights, Llyswen, Highland Park and Eldorado

BRUSH – THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26TH 

LEAVES - THURSDAY – NOVEMBER 2, 9, 16, 27 (Monday)*  *due to the Thanksgiving holiday Center City east of 9th Avenue and north of Union Avenue to Pleasant Valley including Tuckahoe Park, Hileman Heights, Dutch Hill, Prospect, Pleasant Valley and East End

COLLECTION TIMES – Curbside by 7:00 a.m. on the day of collection (no alley or yard pick up)

COLLECTION REQUIREMENTS Compostable paper bags must be used

Brush Collection includes tree and hedge trimmings that fit in a compost bag

Leaf Collection includes grass clippings, flowers and bedding plants and leaves

Do not mix leaves with woody trimmings. Place in separate bags.

Do not tape or tie bags, simply fold the top of the bag over

YARD WASTE DROP-OFF ALSO AVAILABLE Truckload quantities of yard waste may be dropped off at the IRC’s Buckhorn Recycling Facility on Blacksnake Road for a small fee
