Codes Departments Functions

The Department of Codes and Inspections consists of a Director, a Commercial Building Inspector/Electrical Inspector, a Residential Building Inspector, a Plumbing/Mechanical Inspector, six Code Enforcement Officers, and 3 clerical staff.  Inspectors are responsible for ensuring all phases of construction proceed properly, from plan review to the final inspection.  The Code Enforcement Officers inspect for property maintenance violations, including housing, garbage/trash, overgrowth, and vehicles, and also conduct rental property inspections and health inspections.
