The City Controller is elected by the voters for a term of four years with no limit to the number of terms served.  The City Controller is responsible for approving the expenditures of the City, maintaining daily balances for all city funds, and examining and auditing the accounts of the City. The Controller signs all checks on behalf of the City and serves as a voting member on the Non-Uniformed Pension Board and the Fire Pension Board of the City of Altoona.
