APPLICATION PROCESS

Any resident of the City of Altoona wishing to place a dumpster on a City street or sidewalk must complete an application from the Department of Codes and Inspections.  The application will ask for the homeowner's name, address, and telephone number, an emergency contact and phone number, the name of the trash hauler, and the dumpster placement date and removal date.  There is also an area provided for the applicant to sketch exactly where the dumpster will be placed in relation to the street or avenue.  Once the application is submitted, the Department of Codes and Inspections will contact the Altoona Police Department for approval.

FEES

The fee for a dumpster permit is $60.00.  Upon approval, a permit is issued and a red ticket is issued.  This ticket must be placed on the dumpster until the removal date.  All dumpsters must be reflectorized.
