The Community Development Department administers the City of Altoona's planning, subdivision/land development, housing rehabilitation, and Federal grants such as CDBG and HOME. The Department serves the City's economic development needs with the Greater Altoona Economic Development Corporation and the Altoona Blair County Development Corporation. The Department also demolishes blighted structures in the City and administers the City's GIS database. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
