ALTOONA CITY COUNCIL IS TAKING APPLICATIONS FROM QUALIFIED RESIDENTS UNTIL WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 23, 2023 TO FILL A VACANCY ON CITY COUNCIL. THE POSITION WILL EXPIRE THE FIRST MONDAY OF JANUARY, 2024 WHEN A NEWLY ELECTED COUNCIL MEMBER TAKES THE NEW FOUR-YEAR TERM.

ALTOONA CITY COUNCIL WILL HOLD A SPECIAL MEETING FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF VOTING ON AN APPOINTMENT TO FILL THE UNEXPIRED TERM OF FORMER COUNCILMAN JOE CARPER. SAID TERM SHALL EXPIRE THE FIRST MONDAY OF JANUARY, 2024. THE MEETING WILL BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 30, 2023, IN THE COMMON ROOM ON THE 4TH FLOOR OF CITY HALL, 1301 12TH STREET, AT
6:00 P.M. AND IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
